In Fiscal Year 2024, subsurface leasing and development contributed over $42 Million to public education and other institutions in Montana!

State of Montana Trust Lands have a constitutional purpose to generate revenue for public schools and other institutions throughout the state. Revenue is generated through agriculture, grazing, and residential leases; commercial timber and mineral development; and licenses including conservation licenses for public use.
