The Fire Business Program develops and coordinates business management policies and procedures to meet agency needs within interagency, department, and State of Montana standards. The program also provides advice, council, and a coordinating direction on incident business management issues.

Additional roles include:

  • Coordination of business practices for wildfire and all-risk emergency responses among the federal, state, and local agencies
  • Review of operational business management practices to identify business irregularities, proposal of a plan-of-action, and monitoring of corrective actions
  • Review of cost accounting procedures and recommendation of strategies for incident cost containment
  • Development of interagency guidelines and procedures for the DNRC
