The Department strives to keep the public and partners informed of agency programs, opportunities for public comment, projects, wildfire updates, and other activities.
Public Information Requests
A Public Information Request includes, but is not limited to, written documents and electronic files containing information relating to the conduct or administration of the public's business prepared, owned, used or retained by DNRC. While most agency records are available to the public, certain records may be withheld from disclosure due to individual privacy, safety, security, or confidentiality; the exceptions to public record disclosure are described in Montana Code Annotated in Title 2, Chapter 6.
Send a request to the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation for public information or records to dnrc_publicinfo@mt.gov. In your request, be as detailed as possible about which records you are looking for, and provide as much information as you have regarding any topic or site you are seeking information about.
