Lincoln County and the Towns of Libby, Troy, and Eureka are working with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation to conduct a flood study and update the floodplain maps countywide. As shown in the figure below there have been floodplain maps since 1974 for Libby and 1975 for Eureka and Troy. The first floodplain map was issued in 1978 for the county. There have been several updates and changes since the initial floodplain map was issued, but for most of the county the maps are based on data that was collected in the mid 70s.
