Froehlich Spreadsheet

The Colorado Dam Safety Branch developed an Excel spreadsheet to calculate Froehlich breach parameters. For small dams whose parameters are outside the dataset used to develop the Froehlich method, another option is described by Franz and Ward (2011): use of the MacDonald & Langridge-Monopolis equations, combined with Washington State modifications to those equations. For these situation, contact Montana Dam Safety.
