An Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manual is a detailed written description of systematic procedures for ensuring that a dam is operated and maintained properly.
MT Dam Safety Laws require owners of high-hazard dams to prepare an Operation Plan that sets forth how the dam will be operated and maintained. An O&M Manual prepared by the owner or their engineer meets the MT Dam Safety requirement. The O&M Manual also must outline ow monitoring, inspection, and maintenance of the dam and associated reservoir will be accomplished.
The O&M Manual Guidelines are intended to aid dam owners and their engineers in developing or updating their O&M Manuals. DNRC recommends that the O&M Manual Guidelines be used in conjunction with the Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manual Template.
