Arbor Day grants are "tree-centric", meaning that the primary focus of the grant is to purchase and plant one or more trees in the celebration of Arbor Day.  Arbor Day grants are funded by the State of Montana - Natural Resources Operations Fund.

All Montana communities are eligible to apply.

Arbor Day grants are "tree-centric" and are provided for the purchase and planting of trees in celebration of Arbor Day.  

Grant recipients are required to submit an Arbor Day Proclamation.

Sample Proclamation

All communities are eligible for a $350 grant.

Tree City USA communities are eligible for a $850 grant.

No match is required for this grant, however tracking of excess funds spent and volunteer time is strongly encouraged.

A request for proposal will open in the fall of 2023, please check for a link to the application then.
