    State of Montana September 1, 2026 Oil and Gas Lease Sale

    The Department of Natural Resources and Conservation will hold the September 1, 2026 Online Oil and Gas Lease Sale during the period of August 26 – September 1, 2026, hosted by the online auction service, Efficient Markets.  The Third Quarter Oil and Gas Lease Sale includes 15 tracts in the following counties: Hill (2), Musselshell (2), Richland (1), Sheridan (1), and Toole (9).

    All sales will be by online auction bidding. DNRC is requesting comments from interested parties by July 17, 2026.
