Temporary Workspace for Pipeline 2024-04-22
Closing Date: 05-22-2024
The proponent, Cenex Pipeline, LLC, is requesting temporary land use license for a ±25-foot workspace running parallel south of the deeded easement D-17779, in the Section 36, Township 1 North, Range 26 East, in Yellowstone County for the purpose of installing a refined fuels pipeline. They are also requesting an additional ±50 along running parallel north of the deeded easement D-17779 for a small portion, due to topography and safety concerns. The total length of the workspace on this State section will encumber ±3.36-acres. This is part of a project developed by Cenex Pipeline, LLC to re-route and relocate their existing pipeline out of urban residential areas around the Billings Metropolitan area to reduce disturbance and maintenance due to the original pipe and path becoming outdated.
The general path of the current easement follows a steep sloped hillside and embankment adjacent to a drainage that would be difficult to develop. The workspace is to allow the temporary placement of soil to allow room for a safe work area within the project easement. The project is to install a 10” refined fuels pipeline and they will be installing the pipe using open cut trenching.
