The proposed action involves the replacement of existing fence and/or installation of new fence along (approximately) 3.5 miles of State Water Project Lands property boundary at Deadman’s Basin Reservoir, located within Wheatland and Golden Valley Counties. The Deadman’s Basin (Water) Project is owned by the Montana Department of Natural Resources and administered by the State Water Projects Bureau. The purpose of this boundary fencing project will accurately delineate the State’s fee title interest in land ownership and help to reduce existing encroachment issues from neighboring landowners, including livestock trespass, noxious weeds, and building infrastructure.
