The Proponent has requested to install an improvement consisting of a stock water pipeline and a stock tank on this tract of State Trust Land. The pipeline would tie into an existing line located on deeded property to the south and extend approximately 1400 feet through NE 1/4 of the tract. The line would be installed utilizing a static plow method. No tanks will be placed on the trust land only the pipeline which will be permitted through a land use license.

Noncommercial fuels reduction on 25 acres of state land. Trees that are 8” or less in diameter would be thinned to a crown spacing of 10-15’. Trees over 8” diameter would not be cut. Other dense brush or shrubs located within the treatment units will be thinned or removed. All slash generated from this project would be hand piled and burned during appropriate, snow covered conditions.

City of Belgrade is proposing a utility easement to provide water and sewer lines to the planned school off of Frank Road on Section 11, 1 South, 4 East, Gallatin County.

Bridger Pipeline LLC is applying for a Land Use License to provide access and complete 3 Geotech drills to determine soil density for proposed creek crossings that will need to be bored during pipeline installation. Each of the three locations will have a 12” hole drilled to a depth of approximately 110’ all holes will be reclaimed upon completion. Each site will take 1.5 days.

The Big Hole Watershed Committee, represented by Nolan Salix, has submitted a Land Use License application to authorize the installation of sediment control features in an unnamed ephemeral coulee to mitigate erosion and sediment contribution to the Big Hole River as follows:“Install an estimated 66 One Rock Dams and 33 Sediment Control Structures with Rocks on approximately one mile of channel. These will be hand-built structures…,…8 machine-built Sediment Capture Structures with Large Woody Debris.” The proposed project encompasses 2.9 acres. The existing concrete slab crossing has deteriorated, and the culverts embedded within the structure are damaged and no longer adequately convey the water flow.

This action would authorize a utility easement for the construction of a drinking water pipeline across sate land. This pipeline is part of a larger regional water project conducted by the Central Montana Regional Water Authority, with the goal of providing a higher quality and more reliable water source to communities and rural families in central Montana.

Beyond Horizon, LLC. (Henceforth referred to as the proponent) has submitted an application to conduct a seismic survey on the Montana Trust Lands. This project would utilize heavy vibration equipment and seismic receiving equipment for the purpose of mapping the subsurface below the tract for oil and gas development potential. The seismic activities will be contracted through Explor Geoscience USA. The Montana trust lands involved, are part of a much larger seismic project that is being proposed. The proponent is proposing to utilize vibroseis only for the project. Vibroseis is the process of utilizing a large truck that “thumps” the ground and sends vibrations into the subsurface which are then reflected by the subsurface and received by the receiver lines. Upon completion of the project, the receiver lines will be removed and the project area would return to its pre-existing uses. This evaluation will focus on the impacts to Montana trust lands surface ownership (project area), as there will be no impacts to the oil and gas estate from the proposed action.

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is proposing stream stabilization work within the Navigable waterway at the Kona and Kelly island fishing access sites in Missoula County. Coldwater engineering is their authorized agent and prepared the joint application. Kelly Island: A riprap toe would be installed within the low water mark for approximately 194 feet along the bank and would extend 6-10 feet into the stream (.04 acre). Kona: A stone toe will be installed within the low water mark for approximately 150 feet along the bank and would extend up to 20 feet into the stream (.07 acre). Both projects are part of a more extensive stream stabilization project. The portions outlined above are the only operations occurring within DNRC jurisdiction. All work would be completed during low flow. Both proposed areas combined would be less than an acre in size.

On September 3, 2026, DNRC received an application from the Proponent, ASWS LLC dba Hamlin Water, for the placement and operation of a temporary water pump and to lay a temporary layflat hose for the purpose of transferring freshwater across State of Montana Land tracts. The water would be utilized for the fracturing of a horizontal Bakken well(s).

The Anaconda Unit of the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC) is proposing the Luke Mountain 2 Salvage. The project is located seven miles west of Avon, MT.

MT DFWP seeks an 86.4-acre easement on state trust land near Logan, Montana in Gallatin County to build out a public target shooting range. This document tiers to the original Environmental Analysis prepared by DFWP posted for public comment from February 26, 2026, to March 28, 2026, and acts as a supplemental analysis to address issues specific to State Trust Lands.

The purpose of this License is to do 4 to 5 test digs, each being 2’ wide, 5’ long and 7’ deep, for possible Veteran Cemetery located within a 25 acres portion between the railroad track and S Veteran Dr. of the Northeast quarter of the Southwest quarter of Section 18, Township 30 North, Range 20 West, Flathead County Montana. The LUL will encumber the existing hayfield and will be completed after the final cut of hay has occurred. No trees will be removed, and the test holes will be immediately backfilled and re-vegetated upon completion.
