The Eastern Land Office (ELO) of the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC) and the 4-B Properties are proposing a land exchange of approximately 600 acres of land locked state-owned trust land for approximately 480 acres of private lands. The exchange is proposed in order to provide greater management flexibility between state and private land. Land management, revenue to the trust and recreational access would improve as a result of the exchange.

The proponent would like to trench and install approximately 10,000 feet of water line and 3-4 stock tanks on two tracts of state land. The purpose of this project is to increase stock water availability and improve distribution of grazing in a dry area. This will improve grazing management and the management of the state tracts overall.

The Missoula Unit of the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC) is proposing the Baldy Buzzcut Project. The proposed project is located in Granite County approximately 13 aerial miles from Clinton, MT.

The Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC) Conservation and Resource Development Division (CARDD) is issuing a Final Environmental Assessment for the City of Missoula/Missoula County Grant Creek Realignment Project. The project proposes to use American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to provide three miles of new collector and minor arterials of roads, new sewer and water mains, 3.7 miles of new trails, and 0.5 miles of stream restoration and flood control.

The purpose of this proposed action is to extend water and sewer lines for the new hospital construction within the City of Scobey. The proponent is extending the 6-8” sewer line, North of the State Land. The proposed pipeline will run North to South through State Land 30 feet wide and extend 2638.36. feet. It runs along the east edge of the Ag Field in section 16.

Trent Kauer is implementing a large-scale water project across the Meissner Ranch to improve water availability for livestock. This project will involve extending existing livestock pipelines to areas of the ranch with less reliable water sources. For this project they are planning to run a pipeline and place a stock tank in section 36 of T20N R12E. This lease improvement will improve grazing distribution of both the state and adjacent private land.

Mid-Rivers Communications has requested a right of way easement from the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation for the purpose of placing an underground fiber optic cable across the referenced tract of State Trust Land.

Northwestern Energy is proposing a right of way easement through navigable water of the Flathead River. The project consists of a thirty (30) foot wide utility access across the Flathead River. Commencing at the low watermark of the south side of Flathead river on the section line of Sections 2 and 11, then approximately 1250’ NW to the low water mark of the north side of the Flathead River in Section 2, for a total of approximately 1.01 AC.The project is located approximately 3.75 miles east of Columbia Falls near the intersection of Highway 2 E and Berne Rd.

The Kalispell Unit of the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC) is proposing the Reid Divide OSR Timber Sale. The project is located approximately 16 air miles west of Whitefish, MT.

This project is replacing a previously existing line and adding a new stock tank to the system. The project will use water supplied from a pit on private land. The objective is to provide reliable water for the pasture and improve grazing utilization.

This action would authorize an easement for the placement and burying of fiber optic telecommunication cable through Montana State Trust Lands, including all associated construction, maintenance, and use activities. This would provide improved and expanded telephone and internet access to a rural area.
