Grants

The following list of grant programs and resources may be able to help fund floodplain mapping studies, flood mitigation projects, and technical assistance. Many either require match funds from local or private sources or give additional consideration to projects that leverage other sources of funds.

Many of these state and federal grant sources emphasize strategies that promote partnerships and long-term planning efforts. They are competitive and some have a considerable number of planning and reporting requirements that can be challenging for organizations new to grant writing and grant administration. Some of these programs take into account an Applicant’s previous grant management experience or if the Applicant will be partnering with an experienced grant management entity to provide that role.
