Martinsdale Wind Farm LLC, a subsidiary of Horizon Wind Energy, working in cooperation with the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC) is developing a wind energy facility of up to 300 megawatts known as the Martinsdale Wind Power Project (Project) in central Montana approximately 20 miles west of Harlowton, Montana.
The Project will initially consist of approximately 36 wind turbine generators, possibly expanding to 100 wind turbine generators, an underground and overhead 34.5 kilovolt electrical collection system, a project step-up and interconnect substation, a SCADA communication system, hub height free-standing meteorological towers, transmission lines, and access roads.

Horizon Wind Energy is based in Houston, Texas and has regional offices in Portland, Oregon and Ellensburg, Washington.
A scoping meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 29, 2008, in Harlowton, Montana, at the Harlowton Youth Center. An open house will begin at 3 p.m. followed by a presentation on the project beginning at 7 p.m. Scoping comments on the Project will be accepted through March 1, 2008.
A MEPA document for the project is currently being developed. A scoping meeting was held Tuesday, January 29, 2008, in Harlowton, Montana, at the Harlowton Youth Center. Scoping comments on the Project were accepted until March 3, 2008.
