The Flathead Reservation Water Management Board (Board) is holding regular meetings and is developing the Office of the Engineer, which will process all new water right applications on the Flathead Indian Reservation. The Board is establishing interim systems to process certain time sensitive water right applications until the Office of the Engineer is fully operational. Water Resources Manager/Engineer Job Announcement

Misson Valley

Seeking a motivated professional who wants to have a profound and positive impact on the future of the Flathead Reservation. The Flathead Reservation Water Management Board (Board) invites qualified professionals to apply for the Water Resources Manager/Engineer position. Based in Ronan, Montana in the beautiful Mission Valley, near Flathead Lake, the Water Resources Manager/Engineer will play a leadership role in implementing the historic agreement between the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes and the State of Montana to jointly administer water rights on the Flathead Indian Reservation. The Water Resources Manager/Engineer will lead the Office of the Engineer at the direction of the newly formed joint state-tribal Board. Open to professionals in one or more of the following fields: water resources management, hydrology, hydrogeology, environmental science, business or public administration, biological science, civil engineering, environmental engineering, law, or a combination of the above. Priority screening begins June 15, 2022. Applications will be accepted until an adequate applicant pool has been established.

Legal Services Request for Proposals

The Flathead Reservation Water Management Board (Board) invites proposals from a qualified individual or firm(s) interested in providing legal services as Counsel to the Board. See the Request for Proposals scope of services and submittal requirements here.

Domestic Allowance Interim Process

The Board is establishing an interim system to process Individual and Shared Domestic Allowances until the Office of the Engineer is staffed. If you have not constructed a groundwater well you may apply for authorization to construct a well beginning June 1, 2022. Additional information and application forms will be posted here soon.   

Substitute Well Notice Interim Process

The Board is establishing an interim system to process Substitute Well Notices until the Office of the Engineer is staffed. Beginning June 1, 2022, you may submit a Substitute Well Notice to the Board. Additional information and the notice form will be posted here soon.
