
The Urban & Community Forestry program offers grants to improve the health of community forests.
Grants of $300 up to $10,000 are available for a variety of activities.
Arbor Day Grants
For the purchase and planting of one or more trees in the celebration of Arbor Day.
- All communities are eligible for a $300 grant
- Tree City USA communities are eligible for a $750 grant
- The grant requires submission of an Arbor Day Proclamation
- Matching funds are encouraged but not required
- “Tree-centric” grants, meaning trees are the only plant materials eligible for purchase

Program Development Grants
Grants providing local governments funds to build and develop their urban forestry programs. Projects may involve tree inventories, an Urban Forest Management Plan, revising a Tree Ordinance, or conduct an innovative urban forestry project.

Grant recognizing communities demonstrating excellence in urban forestry. This award promotes innovative and significant projects that raise awareness through urban forestry.
