Arbor Day Foundation Trees Selection Guide - Provides useful guidance for tree selection, planting, pruning and overall tree care.

International Society of Arboriculture - Gives technical research and educational resources for urban forestry, publications, and online training opportunities.

Tree Owner Information - Educational brochures and fact sheets on multiple topics such as tree benefits and tips for maintaining your trees.


Standards and PracticesTraining

DNRC's Urban Forestry Program promotes the standards and best management practices outlined in the American National Standards Institue and American Nursery and Landscape Association.

The American Standard for Nursery Stock (ANSI 760) and Container Guidelines
can be downloaded for free.

The American National Standard for Tree Card Operations (ANSI A300), Safety Requirements for Arboricultural Operations (ANSI Z133.1), and Best Management Practices companion publications can be ordered online from the International Society of Arboriculture.
