Seedling Handling, Planting and Care

Proper care for your seedlings before and after receiving them is important for good survival. Here are a few ways to help ensure seedling survival.

  • Pickup seedling the same day they are delivered to the drop-off site
  • Transport in an enclosed vehicle
  • Keep seedling cool at all times
  • Plant seedlings within 2 days of receiving the seedlings
  • Keep roots moist at all times while planting
  • Plant when it is cool
  • Water at the time of planting
  • Keep area around planted seedlings free of weeds
  • For better survival apply water whenever possible
