Montana Forest Stewardship Program
MISSION: The primary purpose of the Forest Stewardship Program is to provide Family Forest landowners (Family Forests) with a learning experience that allows them to make informed decisions about the management and conservation of their forestlands.
The program is delivered in two components. Technical assistance is provided through DNRC Service Foresters who provide one-on-one assistance to landowners interested in learning more about their properties. Educational outreach is provided through an agreement with MSU Extension Forestry. MSU delivers a landowner education program called the Forest Stewardship Planning Workshops. These programs provide landowners with a learning experience to develop their own Forest Stewardship Management Plans.
