Commercial Limited access timber permit to harvest approximately 50 MBF of lodgepole pine timber from 11 acres of state land. - Libby Pre-commercial Thinning (January 27, 2012)
Pre-commercial hand thinning of young tree stands that have been regenerated from past timber sales. The thinning would follow through with the prescribed silvicultural prescriptions and environmental assessments of these past timber sales and incorporate all requirements of the State Forest Land Management Plan (SFLMP) and Montana Administrative Rules for Forest Management. Additionally, the Montana DNRC Habitat Conservation Plan (HCP) would be employed on all covered lands. The purpose of the thinning is to promote tree health and vigor. The proposed project would salvage harvest approximately 65 MBF of very low grade sawlog and an additional 500 tons of pulp from school trust lands located approximately 3 miles east of Lincoln, MT - Iron Schoolhouse Timber Sale (January 18, 2012)
The Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC), Libby Unit, is proposing a commercial timber harvest approximately 2.5-4 air miles south to southeast of Troy, MT in: Par. 1 of COS 3069 in the S ½ NE ¼ Sec. 20 (Common Schools Trust), and N ½ NE ¼, SE ¼ NE ¼, NW ¼ SW ¼ Sec. 32 (School of Mines Trust), T31N, R33W, and W ½ Sec. 36 (Common Schools Trust), T31N, R34W (Attachment A, Vicinity Map). Under the proposed Iron Schoolhouse Timber Sale, DNRC would harvest and sell approximately 6.7 million board feet of wood products from approximately 8 harvest units, totaling approximately 470.6 acres using ground based, cable and possibly helicopter logging equipment to conduct seedtree, shelterwood, and individual tree selection harvest. As a result of this proposed timber sale, an estimated $817,400.00 would be generated for the Common Schools and School of Mines Trusts. - Selow 2 and North Valley Creek Timber Sales (January 6, 2012)
The DNRC is proposing to sell approximately 25,000 tons (3.7 MMBF) of timber with two timber sale projects. This Environmental Assessment (EA) will address both projects. The two proposed timber sale projects addressed by this EA are: the Selow 2 timber sale and the North Fork Valley Creek (NFVC) timber sale. The Selow 2 timber sale would be located in Section 36, Township 18N, Range 22W, roughly 4 miles south of Dixon, Montana. NFVC timber sale would be located in Section 16, Township 17N, Range 21W, roughly 10 miles southwest of Ravalli, Montana

- Lease Improvement Request - New Fence (February 2, 2012)
The proponent has requested to build approximately 0.5 miles of 4 barbed wire wood post fence along the East side of Deep Creek Road. The fence will cross state owned rangeland in the three sections that are listed above. This fence will allow the proponent to utilize deeded and state grazing land to the East of Deep Creek Road. There is currently an old fence on a portion of the tract which will be removed. The new fence will connect a fence on deeded land in Section 13 to a fence on deeded land in Section 23. The fence will be placed just outside of the 60’ county road ROW which will keep the livestock off of Deep Creek Road. - Box L Farms Break Request (January 31, 2012)

This document is an envrionmental analysis of a written request from the surface lessee to break 213.2 acres of former conservation reserve program acreage. - Lease Improvement Request to Repair Two Irrigation Head gates and One Bridge (January 13, 2012)
Four Seasons Cattle LLC has requested to repair two existing irrigation head gates and one existing bridge. The Teton River flooded severely in the 2011 season and damaged the existing structures. No damages or changes to the existing environment will occur as the two irrigation head gates and the bridge are existing structures. The head gate diversion in Section 29, T25N, R6W provides water to Clay Crawford for three private water rights and the head gate diversion in Section 36, T25N, R7W provides water to Dusty Crary for a private water right. The bridge provides access across the Teton River to deeded and state land. - Richardson Break Request (January 4, 2012)
